I was looking at different types of paper when I came across this... An artist named Yulia Brodskaya who creates these amazing pieces of art using paper... These images look like something that you would create using photoshop or illustrator, but no, she uses paper. They're so beautiful and inspiring. Look her up for more works. They're amazing!

Progress: Running with Scissors Opening Sequence
My sketches so far. Originally, in the sketches i wanted it to look like vintage wallpaper peeling away, but now...I want to do something with textures that seem like they are growing. It took me forever to come up with this concept, but the movie revolves around writing. Augusten writes in a journal, his mother writes for a living, etc. There's just a lot of writing going on. So I figure that I am going to do something along the lines of making it look like pages from a journal or a sketchbook, falling onto the screen and writing will appear on the pages, (directors names, etc.) The transitions, would be the pages blowing away, being erased, crumpled, etc... bc the mother, Deirdra, is a struggling writer and she tears apart pages a lot... so yeah.. =)

Progress Update CD box set
Another 4 hours went into planning, cutting, folding, and super gluing Duralar.
First, I drew the template on paper. Then, I rubbed the duralar against the piece of paper to create static so that they would cling together. Then I carefully cut the template out.
After using a process that I dubbed, parallel scoring, I removed the duralar from the paper and began the long process of folding. I had to be extremely careful, because if I tried to fold it too quickly, the duralar would crack and split.
I then used super-strength quick-drying super glue to glue the box together, after using scotch tape to tape the box in place.
The end result is a tight-fitting, clear, shiny container that helps the t shirt keep it's shape and to ensure that there is enough room for the CD case that I designed.
The next step is to mock up the CD case. Hopefully, the template that I came up with will fit the less than 15 millimeters of space that I allotted for it. Fingers crossed! I know that I'm crazy for trying to fit so much stuff into a small space, but hey, I want my package design to rival those of Apple's. Those designers somehow manage to cram so much into the tiniest of packages.

Kinetic Type Project
Yay! This project is as finished as it can be. lol. I'll go back and work out the kinks when I get some time. Possibly adding some kind of intro so that I can lead the viewer into the video instead of just throwing them into it.

Cd Case Project
I just had to post up a sketch that I made. I have this vision for two interlocking halves made of two different textures but are the same color. I still dont know which artist I'm choosing. Right now it's a fight among The Bird and the Bee, Late Night Alumni, or Calvin Harris. I have to admit that this design is very Calvin Harris-esque, but for some reason I'm really wanting to do one of the first two artists.
There's going to be a cd insert folding thing and a booklet on the inside of the casing.
I know the photos are poorly lit, but this idea just came to me while I was over at a friends house and it's clearly past 2am. I just had to sketch it down and upload it.
